Bobby (& Princess)'s story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.
There is nothing better to a rescuer then helping a couple of dogs that really really need you!  Meet Bobby and Princess! They are a bonded pair of Senior Chihuahuas looking for a retirement home.  This adorable pair was surrendered to our rescue when their owner no longer could keep them  due to change in living circumstances .  Well we were NOT about to let these dogs be taken to a shelter!  No way little chihuahuas, no way.
Bobby is 13 yrs old and still quite spry and Princess is 16 yrs old and although smaller than Bobby still healthy and has a lot of life left in her.  She has very long legs!  They like to snuggle together under the blankets - typical chihuahuas!  Stay warm and cuddle all day!  They are low key and want nothing more then a warm bed to spend their days in!  Oh and they LOVE chicken!
Princess is looking for her personto snuggle and sit with she is shy at first but once she knows you .. she is very sweet and lovable .. She is housebroken but is hesitant on cold days and will use a potty pad.  This girl does not like coats but your welcome to try. Bobby will follow Princesses lead, hes the informer... he reports everything back to Princess, its very endearing.  True Love! He is sweet and lovable and loves to snuggle, he is housebroken and needs encouraging on cold days too.  Please expect an adjustment period for the dogs.  Bobby likes his coat!  Due to their age and size we would not want them placed with small children. Another small, older (calm) dog would be nice - nothing to active or large!  Overall they are great little dogs and will be wonderful companions for someone with a laid back lifestyle.
What are some of the reasons to adopt a senior dog?  Let me tell you!  They are ready to love and BE loved!  They are calmer and have a lower need for exercise (although they may need and want a little).  Because they are less active - they require less food! Their medical and behavior issues are known.  They are usually trained but can also pick up a new routine!  Senior dogs do NOT do well in a hectic, noisy shelter - which is why we try very hard to help as many as possible.  One of the best reasons to adopt a senior dog has nothing to do with convenience but everything to do with kindness.  Senior dogs deserve a chance to live out their lives in a loving home.  Wouldn't you love to give these two dogs that chance?
Bobby & Princess are spayed/neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, tested neg for heartworm.  Both dogs were at the vet recently for physicals and vaccines, Bobby has a slight heart murmur -to be expected at his age and is scheduled for a dental in March. The adoption fee for both dogs are $150 - we just want to find them a wonderful home!  If you think that you could provide this, please apply online!
